Simon McCombe
New to the team for 2006/2007, Simon has a deep-rooted passion for skiing ignited when he first came to the Alps as a wide-eyed six-year old. Simon’s knowledge of skiing was then built through racing in his teenage years and as a pot-washing ski-bum after University. Despite all best efforts to steer his life towards a career in the law, skiing has won the day and he now loves teaching skiing at all levels – from beginner slopes to back-country.
Simon has achieved the highest qualification available to instruct, and has been working in Val d’Isère since 1994. Formerly a practising barrister, he also sits on the Board of Directors of the British Association of Snowsports Instructors as their Legal Director.
He is a BASI Trainer and he trains, assesses
and examines Ski instructors through all levels of Instructor
qualification. This uniquely places him at the cutting edge of
what is happening in Ski Coaching globally.
Simon’s summers are spent keeping his legal practice to the bare minimum, instead preferring to skydive and kitesurf to the very maximum. |
